Looks like fun, but where are the coonskin caps and the river pirates? How many miles would you say you had to drag those canoes upstream?

Who knew the Brule was running this time of year! How were the mosquitoes

From further down the road (10 April '39) and running twice a week with Bill Marten who's even further ahead at 72, I can confirm a training effect is still possible. Running 10 miles in Montana with my 28 year old daughter every other day for a month produces a minute per mile improvement. It also gives real meaning to the adage about making you strong if it doesn't kill you. Zero absolute, -13 with wind chill, but Bill and I will run tomorrow. What's the temp in San Diego?

Thanks, "Anonymous", it's good to hear that the training effect can still work in an aging bod, and it's even better to hear that you & Bill are still running together - even in Wisconsin winters. Sounds like your daughter is just as tough as you guys. It's Wednesday morning at 9 and I'm just getting ready to head out the door for a little run. It's 66 degrees.

Stop it John. You're making me nostalgic for the -39 temps of Duluth. ...And that was just the summers!
