Last week I did a 4 mile hike with a little climbing. The next day my hip hurt too much for any workout. After recovering for a couple of days, I've switched to 20-25 minute workouts (total time) on my gym's treadmill, Stairmaster, and stationary bike. It seems to be sustainable in that I've done these workouts for each of the last 4 days. I'm also doing a little quad strengthening and hip flexor stretching. So far, so good - my hip feels improved. Today's workout included 2 x 60 second run at 5 mph (12:00/mile pace).
